What’s new in the sixth edition of this readers’-advisory classic? A new chapter on Christian fiction is divided into familiar subgenres, among them romance, historical romance, gentle reads, mystery, fantasy, and westerns. A chapter on “emerging genres” treats women’s fiction and chick lit. New introductory chapters discuss the social nature of reading, the history of readers’-advisory service, and the readers’-advisory interview. And finally, many new authors and titles have been added to the suggested reading lists.
